“Royal Repast Rajasthan”
Jaipur: The ongoing food festival at Sheraton Rajputana is surely a treat for foodies. Adored as ‘Royal Repast Rajasthan’, this festival promises a never had before experience. This is not the usual Rajasthani food fair; this is what the chef of Rajputana, Akshraj Jodha claims.
The festival is a treat in monsoon. The Royal Repast Rajasthan is all about traditional Rajasthani Recipes, says Chef Akshraj Jodha. The chef claims that he has come up with all the traditional Rajasthani recipes that he has grown up with.
Many a times the food festival based on Rajasthani theme take in mainly non vegetarian food, but this one is not just non-vegetarian fare. Chef Jodha promises to bring unexpected this time. Along with non vegetarian recipes Jodha has tried to present some exclusive vegetarian recipes as well.
The veg section offers “chakki ka saag”, this recipe is a substitute of non veg for vegetarians, and it takes much time to prepare this one. It is a special dish and is very tediously made by washing whole-wheat dough repeatedly and then flattened and steamed to be put finally into yogurt base gravy.
Other veg recipes include mangodi ke kebab and the ker sangri along with the more regular aloo aur pyaz ki subzi, papad aur paneer ka saag and dal panchmel. There are dishes for the non vegetarians as well in the non veg section. Maans ka soola, charkha murgh, maans aur bajre ka soyeta and murgh Shekhawati and laal maans are the prime attractions for the carnivores. Laal maans is special one because of the Mathania mirch that Jodha puts in it.
Mouthwatering desserts like malpua with rabri, mishri mawa and the royal rajbhog too are worth looking. For those, who prefer to have it all, special thalis, both non-veg and veg, are also on offer.
